Somalia Technical Skills Initiative (STSI)
Learn Networking, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing & DevOps – Free, Year-Round
SomNOG’s Somalia Technical Skills Initiative (STSI) is a year-round training program for Internet operations and technology skills – free, open to anyone, and delivered in partnership with the Internet Society Somalia Chapter, drawing on volunteer facilitators from Somalia’s technical community.
What we cover
Each month brings a new set of hands-on sessions. Recent topics have included DevOps 101: Foundations and Introduction, Cloud Computing 101, IPv6 training (delivered with AFRINIC), Networking 201, and Online Trust & Safety – taught by experienced practitioners from within the SomNOG and ISOC Somalia community.
How it works
Sessions run virtually and in person throughout the year, outside of SomNOG’s annual event. In May 2026 alone, STSI delivered 7 activities – 5 virtual and 2 in-person – training over 235 participants in a single month.
